With the Affordable Care Act (ACA) set to begin open enrollment in October, many businesses are rushing to prepare for the changes it will bring. The Tempe Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Hot Topics and Lunch event about the ACA this Thursday, June 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel Phoenix Airport, 427 N. 44th St.

The ACA: Compliance or Consequences event is the ideal opportunity for Ahwatukee and local businesses to attend as they will have all aspects of the Affordable Care Act explained. The presentation will be followed by a short question and answer session.

The event will be hosted by three legal experts: Daniel G. Orenstein, deputy director of the Network for Public Health Law-Western Region; Gary W. Fleming, CPA, Henry & Horne; and Megan Scanlon, attorney at Quarles & Brady.

Together, they will cover the topics of compliance issues, penalties, IRS enforcement and taxes, among others.

Register by calling (480) 967-7891 or by visiting www.tempechamber.org.

The cost for attending will be $25 for members in advance, $30 for members on the day of the event, and $35 for non-members.
