In today’s ever expanding world there are so many ways we can learn: formal education, online classes, college, trade school, vocational school, high school. Every single avenue helps us continue moving forward with a career, or helps us take the first steps in a new career. Sometimes, just one challenge may be a roadblock when trying to move forward. If that one obstacle is financial support, then the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce may be able to supply some relief. At the Palo Verde Award Gala on Nov. 3 the Women in Business Committee will be awarding two deserving recipients each $1,000 towards their pursuit of education.
If you are a woman who lives, works or goes to school in the Ahwatukee Foothills community, wants to continue her education, and can use $1,000 in that pursuit, then applying for the scholarship is quite simple and well worth it. Why is it worth it? Anne Gill, CEO and president of the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce said it best, “This scholarship program has aided past recipients in achieving their goals for the future and has given them confidence to set high standards of achievement throughout their college education.” Please understand, age does not matter for this award. The chamber encourages women from high school seniors on up to apply.
So how can the chamber provide this type of benefit? That answer is easy. It’s easy because there are so many wonderfully supportive people who live in our community and who understand the benefit of a scholarship. The chamber greatly appreciates each and every person, organization, and business that has contributed financially to the scholarship fund. If you are interested in contributing to the success of these scholarships, and awarding amazing woman amazing opportunities, I encourage you to donate. Please contact the chamber to find out how you can do that.
All applications for the scholarship are due by Sept. 30 and the form can be downloaded from www.AhwatukeeChamber.com. Be sure to let all the deserving women in our life know about this outstanding opportunity.
