Ahwatukee’s Independence Day fireworks celebration will be fired from its location at the Ahwatukee Country Club. Enjoy great food, live music and fireworks at the 37th celebration of Red, White & Boom! Presented by the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce, Red, White and Boom will be on Tuesday, July 3 starting at 3 p.m., and will be one of the most exciting events to hit our streets all summer.

Casey Lee Smith, an Arizona native and rising teen star, will perform on stage from 3 to 5 p.m. From 5 to 6 p.m. families will enjoy a hot dog-eating contest hosted by Von Hanson’s Meats & Spirits followed by Ahwatukee’s Next Big Thing singing competition with the Ahwatukee Children’s Theater (ACT). Kids 17 and under can bring their music on an iPod and audition from 3 to 5 p.m. at the ACT booth for the opportunity to showcase their talent on the main stage. Judges for ACT’s Ahwatukee’s Next Big Thing will be Channel 3 anchor, Stella Inger, Kevin Gossett from KEZ FM99.9, and country music artist Casey Lee Smith.

One of the newest additions to this year’s event is live entertainment provided by Radio Disney Rockin’ Road Show from 6-9 p.m. The Radio Disney Road Crew will keep the party hopping with music, interactive games and prizes all centered on family friendly fun as they count the night down until it’s time for fireworks at 9 p.m.

General admission to the event is free, however, patrons can purchase tickets to the Hospitality Tent. Sponsored by Loco Patron, the Hospitality Tent provides a festive atmosphere and an opportunity to watch the fireworks from a cooled, misted patio. Tickets are $25 per person, $15 for children 12 and under and include a meal and one beverage. Space is limited and tickets can be purchased by contacting the chamber or at www.ahwatukeechamber.com.

The spirit of Independence Day is not only about the United States officially becoming a country. It’s about celebrating the values that the country was founded upon and remembering that as Americans, we should continue to embody the values our country was built on.

Darin Fisher, CEO of Red, White and Boom’s presenting sponsor, Vision Community Management said, “I have been so proud to be the presenting sponsor since the fireworks returned to Ahwatukee four years ago. There is a deep connection between the community and this incredible event; it brings me back to my childhood in rural upstate New York.”

Red, White and Boom is more than just a fireworks show, it’s Ahwatukee’s way to celebrate our history and give thanks for the freedom and liberties for which our Founding Father’s fought. Celebrating the Fourth of July is one of the best parts about summer.

“When I was younger I looked forward to all the events celebrating the Fourth of July. To me it epitomized everything summer with barbecues, family fun, games, and food. I am so grateful I found a community like Ahwatukee that helps me continue that tradition with my family,” said event co-chair Christie Ellis.

While Independence Day is our national holiday and has such historical significance, it should be one of celebration. So we invite you to have fun on July 3, and show your patriotism by celebrating and watching an incredible fireworks display in the heart of Ahwatukee. Come join us for an afternoon and evening of food, live music, kid’s activities, and fun for the whole family.

Don’t forget your blankets, lawn chairs, umbrellas or EZ ups. Coolers are welcome with unopened water bottles only. NO outside food, soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, glass containers, pets, or personal fireworks.
