The Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce has been offering a Community Directory/Buyer’s Guide as a service to the public for more than 15 years. The booklet is not only a business directory but also contains information on hospitals, emergency services, schools, churches, senior citizen services, and utilities. County and state phone numbers are also listed for residents to call about problems such as derelict vehicles, litter, weeds and property maintenance.
For the second year in a row, the Chamber’s 2014-15 Directory will be marketed, designed and produced through an agreement with the Ahwatukee Foothills News (AFN), the publisher of this newspaper and a long-standing chamber member. In addition to keeping the advertising dollars local, the AFN and chamber sales teams are working together to explain the benefits and advertising options of the program to chamber members. The chamber staff will provide the directory content and the creative team at the AFN will design the product and provide the printing.
“The Ahwatukee Foothills News is very pleased to be able to partner with the chamber for this important project,” said AFN Publisher Kent Johnston. “Knowing that it ultimately benefits the local businesses, informs consumers and allows the chamber to fund its educational mission for Ahwatukee businesses is most important.”
Advertising in the chamber publication has even more advantages. According to a national study recently conducted by the Atlanta-based marketing company, The Shapiro Group, “consumers are 63 percent more likely to buy goods and services in the future from a company that they believe is a member of the local chamber,” and “they are 44 percent more likely to think favorably about” the business.
The chamber publishes a beautiful full-color, glossy Business Directory. The directory includes a complete listing of current chamber membership, both in alphabetical order and categorically by type of business. The directory is provided to every member of the chamber, and is distributed at the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce, at local resorts, area shopping centers and to new residents. In addition, an electronic version of the directory will also be placed on the chamber’s website.
The directory is a great tool for people who are relocating to Ahwatukee and for many people, it is their first glimpse at local businesses. It’s also used as businesses recruit employees to come to the Ahwatukee area, and it’s handy for visitors looking for services. Business to business is another use for the directory as people like to know they are doing business with other chamber members.
Businesses who participate in the Ahwatukee Chamber Directory will be recognized as a prominent and successful business in the Ahwatukee area. This comprehensive publication is used all year to promote the chamber, its membership, and doing business in the Ahwatukee area.
All chamber members are asked to please make sure their chamber contact information is current. Please visit www.ahwatukeechamber.com to find your directory listing.
