Did you know IKEA now offers design services and furnishings for small businesses? Or that there is a theater inside the Foothills Golf Club that you can use for your next meeting or event? These are just a couple of the businesses you’ll meet at our third annual Business Expo and Breakfast coming up on Aug. 19 at the Four Points By Sheraton in Ahwatukee. Hosted by the Chamber’s Women in Business, community members are encouraged to attend and participate in the business showcase to see what is new in the Ahwatukee area, and enjoy the networking and giveaways.

Kicking off the expo at 9 a.m. will be a breakfast and keynote speaker. The chamber’s vision is to help our businesses achieve their goals and dreams, so we are pleased to announce that our guest speaker will be Tim Hovik, the owner and general manager of San Tan Ford, who will present, “Turning Business Around for Success.”

When Hovik and his team took over San Tan Ford in January 2010, it was in tough shape. They knew in order to survive they had to create a culture that would set them apart from other dealerships and to let people know that doing business with San Tan Ford was doing business with a member of the community. This has been a huge part of the success at San Tan Ford. Hovik will share how they stopped the red ink in 2010 and obtained the largest two-year turnaround by percentage of any Ford dealer in the United States. Attendees will learn valuable tips to help turn around business to achieve success. Their experiences and strategies will help you plot your course to business success. It’s your turn!

Following the breakfast from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be the business expo where you can meet your business neighbors face-to-face, learn about unique products and services available in the Ahwatukee area, and enter to win some wonderful prizes. Attending the expo between 10 a.m.–1 p.m. is free, and you can find a list of vendors on our website, www.ahwatukeechamber.com.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our expo sponsor San Tan Ford, plus our supporting sponsors: Sundance Salon & Spa and Biltmore Loan & Jewelry. We can’t wait to see our fabulous vendors and both new and familiar faces on Aug. 19.

We encourage you to invite and share the event details with others in your social network. By spreading the word, we help each other locally. Don’t forget to bring plenty of business cards, as you will also have the opportunity to make new connections during the breakfast and expo. We look forward to seeing you there.

Tickets to the breakfast can be purchased on our website, www.ahwatukeechamber.com, or by calling our office, at (480) 753-7676. Any questions regarding the event, please call (480) 753-7676 or email info@ahwatukeechamber.com.
