Crash sends two to hospital
Police suspect the driver of this pickup truck pulled in front of oncoming traffic at 17th Avenue and Pecos Road, Wednesday afternoon. Two people were transported to the Maricopa County Medical Center as a precaution.

Police are investigating a crash Wednesday afternoon at 17th Avenue and Pecos Road, but the evidence appeared to speak for itself.

"We appear to have a classic failure to yield at a stop sign," said Sgt. Frank Matsko.

Investigators believe that a pickup was pulling out from 17th Avenue to turn east onto Pecos Road when it was struck by a Lexus heading west.

"Both parties were transported (to the hospital) as a precaution," said Matsko.

The crash occured during a break in the weather, with broad daylight and on dry pavement.
