Wells Fargo & Company has increased to up to $10,000 the reward it is offering for original information leading to identification, arrest and conviction in connection with 11 robberies of financial institutions in Phoenix, Mesa, Queen Creek and Scottsdale.

The original reward of up to $5,000 was announced Jan. 4.

Investigators believe the robberies were committed by the same man, whom they have dubbed the “First Aid Bandit.”  He is described as Hispanic, in his mid-30s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with an average build, black mustache (possibly fake), black hair and acne scars.

The subject has usually worn a long-sleeve shirt or sweatshirt with a hood, a baseball hat, black sunglasses, denim jeans and white tennis shoes, officials aid.

The subject has been identified as having cuts and scrapes on his nose and both sides of his face.  Some witnesses have described these cuts and scrapes as fake or possibly as burn marks. At some of the robberies there has been a gauze bandage on a different area of his face, sometimes with blood seeping through, according to authorities.  The blood has also been described as fake in some instances.
