Pertussis Awareness Day

Michelle Razore, whose daughter nearly died from pertussis, shares her story with Jeff Gordon, NASCAR champion and spokesperson for the Sounds of Pertussis¨ Campaign, and Dr. Alan R. Fleischman, Senior Vice President and Medical Director, March of Dimes, and Heidi Bruch Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 in New York. In front of the group is the first panel of the Sounds of Pertussis Protection Quilt, which was displayed in Times Square for Pertussis Awareness Day. The Quilt represents how adults can create a blanket of protection around babies by getting vaccinated with a pertussis booster, so they donÕt get sick and spread the disease to their infant.
