Colina "Souper" Bowl
With a success rate of nearly 85 percent, students at Kyrene de la Colina have been amazingly accurate in picking the winning Super Bowl team dating back into the 1990s while using the kids' intuition to collect food for the needy. And the winner in Super Bowl XLV's tilt Sunday that pits the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Green Bay Packers? As of lunchtime Friday the results had yet to be officially tabulated. However, by the looks of the number of food cans on the Steelers' side versus those stacked on the Packers side, it's Green Bay by a landslide. "I want the Packers because I think they're a really good team," said Sean Matthews, a fifth grader. Agreeing with that commonly held sentiment was another fifth grader, Jacqueline Sheridan: "I think the Packers have better players and they try harder." An officially tally will be published in Wednesday's Ahwatukee Foothills News.
