Carter’s Chord, part of this summer’s Toby Keith tour, release debut CD
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Toby Keith's Biggest & Baddest Tour is rolling through the nation this summer and three singing/songwriting sisters have hitched a ride with the release of their debut album last month.
The group, Carter's Chord, signed to Keith's Show Dog Nashville label and their self-titled June 17 album is available through all major online retailers.
Carter's Chord captures the music of sisters Becky, Emily and Joanna Robertson. The trio's musical pedigree traces to infancy and accomplished parents Barny and Carter Robertson, who toured in Waylon Jennings band until the birth of their oldest daughter Becky. The group's name is an homage to their mother.
The new CD is superb and includes 10 tracks, five written by Becky, Emily or Joanna, and a backing vocal (on "Summer Early ‘60s") by their mother Carter, who is also the song's composer. The album also features the band's new single "Different Breed."
The sisters made their major label debut as children, singing on Waylon Jennings' country album for kids, Cowboys, Sisters, Rascals & Dirt. Their immersion in music led them almost inevitably to Nashville, where Keith was one of many instant fans taken in by their incomparable sibling harmony.
