Special to the Ahwatukee Foothills News

Do you like hot pancakes in the morning?

If you answered yes to this question then IHOP is the place for you. Do you not like regular pancakes? Well, that's OK because IHOP has a variety of pancakes and syrups.

In addition to the mouth-watering flapjacks, IHOP has an array of breakfast items, such as omelets, French toast, hash browns and much more.

Now that is just for breakfast. IHOP also has a variety of lunch items. Whether you have an interest in chicken (which is really good) or hamburgers they have a big list.

National Pancake Day is Feb. 24. You can go to IHOP any time between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. and you'll be offered a free shortstack of pancakes. All they ask is that in return you consider donating to the Children's Miracle Network, supporting Phoenix Children's Hospital.

Fun facts about National Pancake Day 2008:

* IHOP served 1.5 million free pancakes.

* All of the free pancakes served would create a stack more than 12 miles high.

* Last year's National Pancake Day was IHOP's largest one-day event in the company's 50-year history.

* Donations totaled $875,000 to children's charities, far exceeding the fundraising goal.

* IHOP has raised almost $2 million to support charities since National Pancake Day's inception in 2006.

Healthcare reform
In a final push for a sweeping healthcare overhaul, President Barack Obama urged a simple "up-or-down" vote on the legislation. What would your vote be?
Up! Let's get this thing passed already!
The proposals look good on paper, but I'm still hesitant about its execution.
Down. It's time to go back to the drawing board.
