The Desert Vista High School photography club is hosting a gallery opening today, March 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Dolce Luna Gelato, 4647 Chandler Blvd., Suite 10.
Club president Alanah Tupponce said the photography gallery will feature the work of five photographers from the club that fits under the billing, "Ohmigawd."
"Through the eyes of five featured photographers, nature and grandeur are brought to life in a stunning feature," Tupponce said.
Each of the five photographers is a senior at Desert Vista and the showing will be an exit show, displaying the culminating achievements of the young photogs. One of the five, Robert Carroll, will also be giving an acoustic performance during the gallery showing.

With a week off from live filming, Saturday Night Live stalwart Darrell Hammond hits the Tempe Improv, 930 E. University Drive, for four shows this weekend.
Hammond, who has been an SNL cast member since 1995, is best known for his impressions of multiple political figures, including Vice President Dick Cheney and former President Bill Clinton or celebrities such as Sean Connery or Regis Philbin. Hammond's 13 years on the show make him the longest-running cast member in SNL's history.
Hammond has performed stand-up across the United States for several years and has also appeared in several movies throughout his career, including Scary Movie 3 and New York Minute.
Show times start at 8 and 10 p.m. on March 21 and 22. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $30 and a dry balcony area is available for the 18-and-over show for those under 21. The Tempe Improv requires a two-item minimum purchase from the food or drink menu in addition to the $30 cover charge.
To purchase tickets or get more information, visit the Improv's Web site at www.symfonee.com/improv/tempe or call (480) 921-9877.
