Ahwatukee Foothills News

Starting from a single restaurant in 1986, Filiberto's Mexican Food has grown to more than 28 restaurants in Arizona and California, including one in Ahwatukee Foothills.

The restaurant, located at 1402 E. Chandler Blvd., opened in August 2007. Owner Pedro Ramirez said he strives to offer customers the freshest food and the best service.

Ramirez said the most popular item on the menu is the carne asada, which consists of diced steak made with homemade pico de gallo salsa and homemade guacamole. Burritos are $4.49 and tacos are $2.69.

Filibertos also serves its breakfast items all day, and offers a different special each day, such as a Chimichanga and 24 oz drink on Wednesdays for $4.99.

Ramirez also said the people in the kitchen making the carne asada burrito and the rest of the food have been cooking for more than 12 years.

Healthcare reform
In a final push for a sweeping healthcare overhaul, President Barack Obama urged a simple "up-or-down" vote on the legislation. What would your vote be?
Up! Let's get this thing passed already!
The proposals look good on paper, but I'm still hesitant about its execution.
Down. It's time to go back to the drawing board.
