Caffe Boa rides 'wave of the future'

When Caffe Boa’s Web site got a face lift, the restaurant underwent a bit of a transformation as well.

Now, a once-tucked-away 14-foot, cherry-colored wine cabinet serves as a focal point on the east wall, to greet customers for dinner and wine-tasting events.

With the new Web site, owner Scott Rennard used the opportunity to start promoting events like his annual summer wine dinner through social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.

“It’s the wave of the future. No doubt,” Rennard said.

Caffe Boa’s annual summer wine dinner was held at 7 p.m. Thursday at 5063 E. Elliot Road.

Rennard said whenever possible he tries to bring in organic, locally-grown produce. Caffe Boa’s fillets, for example, are grass-fed, Angus-quality or better.

“It’s the little things. People come in they can taste the difference between a fillet here and a fillet over there,” he said.

Healthcare reform
In a final push for a sweeping healthcare overhaul, President Barack Obama urged a simple "up-or-down" vote on the legislation. What would your vote be?
Up! Let's get this thing passed already!
The proposals look good on paper, but I'm still hesitant about its execution.
Down. It's time to go back to the drawing board.
