For anyone tired of cooking after the holidays and looking for non-traditional fare, Benihana has seasonal specials for a post-holiday dining experience.

The restaurant is open 365 days a year, and is currently offering its seasonal Cranberry Spiced Mojito: blend of Ketel One Vodka, cranberries, mint, Cointreau and cinnamon and sugar on top. The cocktail is available through Dec. 31.
"It looks like a holiday," said Shinji Ohfuji, an Ahwatukee resident and Benihana regional manager. "The color is holiday so it's beautiful, and very tasty."

The holiday menu features the Holiday Trio, which includes filet mignon, shrimp and chicken for $35 (plus tax), along with a complimentary $10 gift card for a future visit before Dec. 31.

For teppan and sushi aficionados, the Benihana Gift Card promotion will be available through Dec. 31. Those who bring in a $100 gift card will receive a certificate for a complimentary Benihana Delight entrée. And those who purchase a $50 gift card will receive a certificate for a complimentary Benihana Roll.

Ohfuji said the Benihana chefs make the experience very fun.

"They will flip the shrimp tail, make a volcano with onions, or a Mickey Mouse face or heart shape with steamed rice," he said.
Benihana Chandler is located at 3025 W. Chandler Blvd. For more information, call (480) 812-4701 or visit www.benihana.com.

Healthcare reform
In a final push for a sweeping healthcare overhaul, President Barack Obama urged a simple "up-or-down" vote on the legislation. What would your vote be?
Up! Let's get this thing passed already!
The proposals look good on paper, but I'm still hesitant about its execution.
Down. It's time to go back to the drawing board.
