I am replacing my appliances and I have no idea what is available on the market. What should I be looking for when it comes to new features?
If you are also remodeling your kitchen it will give you an opportunity to add more functional appliances such as a warming drawer, ice maker, garbage compactor or a wine cooler.
More appliance companies are going green and introducing to the market more efficient products and this will bring a lot of savings to you through the years. Electrical companies such as SRP are giving rebates. I just recently bought a new front-load washer and dryer and I received $75 for having The Energy Star seal. The washer uses much less water and the dryer has a wrinkle-free feature that works very well and I do not have to iron as much.
When buying appliances make sure they have The Energy Star seal, they are easy to clean, have the capacity (size) that you need and that they go with your décor. Buying appliances is an investment that needs to be made wisely since we only replace the appliances every eight to 10 years.
I would like to spruce up my kitchen without making a great investment of remodeling at this time. What would you suggest?
It is a great idea now that the holidays are coming soon to start sprucing up our homes, especially the kitchen since it’s the room most used.
There are certainly many ways to make your kitchen look great without a total renovation. Make a list of everything you do not like and start changing it, like the colors of the walls, the lighting, window coverings and the accessories, and if needed you can add or change your hardware. Determine your budget and make a list of your priorities. If your budget is not enough, know that you can change things according to your plan at a later date.
When selecting the products and colors for the wall make sure that you have an overall look that you are putting together. This is an opportunity to be creative and express your style. If you do not have an idea of what style to choose look at magazines or consult with a designer. Soon the holidays will be here and you will be ready to showcase your new stylish kitchen.
