Here: Storytelling at The CoffeeBuzz

On Sunday, July 6, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., Sandy Oglesby will emcee the storytelling event at The CoffeeBuzz, 4804 E. Chandler Blvd., Suite 110. Listeners and tellers are needed. If you'd like to be one, contact Sandyoglesby@cox.net. "Freedom" and "independence" are the themes for the day, but any stories are welcome.

Near: First Friday at Eye Lounge

Eye Lounge, a contemporary art space located at 419 E. Roosevelt St. in the heart of the Roosevelt Row Arts District in downtown Phoenix, will hold a free public reception from 5 to 10 p.m. July 4 during the First Friday artwalk. The exhibition of contemporary photography entitled The GREENBELT is currently on display through July 12.

Regular gallery hours are Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 to 5 p.m. Eye Lounge is a collective, artist-run, contemporary art space committed to fostering local emerging and established visual artists.
