Children attending Ahwatukee Foothills Montessori held their annual holiday sing-a-long outside the school Friday.

The smell of cinnamon and hot cider filled the air Friday morning as parents formed a crowded semi-circle outside Ahwatukee Foothills Montessori to watch their children's holiday sing-a-long performance. About 100 students ages 2 to 6 danced and sang along to 10 holiday songs for the school's 12th annual performance. Songs included Jingle Bells, Jingle Bell Rock, Here Comes Santa Claus, Rocking Around the Christmas Tree, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa Clause is Coming to Town, Christmas is Love and others. "They also sing two songs in Spanish," administrative assistant Mariann Roger said. "They learn Spanish in school and practice the songs in Spanish class." Students made fish hats from construction paper to wear while singing Los Peces en el Rio (The Fish in the River). They also performed Feliz Navidad (Merry Christmas).
