Ahwatukee Foothills resident Maxx Geidel has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He is Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 16, led by scoutmaster Dave McBee.

For his Eagle project, Geidel re-naturalized, re-shaped and re-vegetated the West Pima trail in South Mountain Park. The project involved 27 volunteers and took 170 hours to complete.

Geidel, 15, is the son of Barbara and Gregg Geidel and is a freshman at Horizon Community Learning Center.
