Dr. Chris Woolaver, an Ahwatukee Foothills orthodontist, will buy back Halloween candy from children this year in an effort to promote good oral health and to give back to the community. Woolaver will buy back Halloween candy brought into his office on Nov. 2 between 2 and 6 p.m. He will pay kids $1 for every pound of candy. He will also pay the same amount to each child’s school. All the candy collected will be sent to American soldiers fighting the war in Iraq.

Woolaver has small children himself and a large amount of his patients attend local schools in the area, this is a great way for schools to raise money and to promote a safe and healthy Halloween.

Cell phones for soldiers

As a U.S. veteran, Ahwatukee Foothills Dr. Greg Hauser knows the importance and joy of being able to call home when deployed. More than 150,000 troops are serving overseas and are away from their families. Cell Phones for Soldiers and Hauser’s Great Choice Chiropractic are calling on all Americans to support these brave men and women by donating unused cell phones. Cell Phones for Soldiers hopes to collect over 50,000 cell phones this year to help keep troops connected with their families.

Local residents can support the collection drive by donating their phones at Great Choice Chiropractic, located at 15810 S. 45th St., Suite 160, in the Ahwatukee Medical Center.
