Brian Loh, 14, earned the rank of Eagle Scout last month. He is a freshman at Brophy College Preparatory and a member of Troop 401 at the Church of the Beatitudes.

Loh is an active member in honors band, key club, rowing and cycling clubs at Brophy, as well as a member of the Symphonic Winds Ensemble of the Phoenix Youth Symphony.

For his Eagle service project, Loh and his troop helped the Emily Center at Phoenix Children's Hospital. They organized a book drive to raise a total of 490 books and then they built two sturdy rolling book carts to transport books and audio-visual materials to the young in-patients at Phoenix Children's Hospital.

The project involved more than 35 people and took more than 150 hours to complete.
