Jonathan M. Joseph of Grand Blanc, Mich., 25, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. He is the son of former Ahwatukee Foothills News publisher Jason Joseph.
Jonathan was born in Flint, Mich., on June 12, 1987. He served in the U.S. Marines in Afghanistan and was an avid soccer player; he played on multiple traveling teams.
Surviving are his father, Jason (Christy) Joseph; mother, Lori (Andy) Peterson; brothers, Michael Joseph, Bradley and David Peterson; grandmother, Nova Valenti; grandparents, Kenneth and Pat Peterson; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Ernest and Roula Joseph and grandfather, Donald Valenti.
Services will be held in Michigan on Monday, Jan.. 7. Military Honors will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
