Donna Joy Mills, 83, of Ahwatukee, died peacefully at home with her family by her side on July 20. Donna was born in Los Angeles on Dec. 6, 1926 to Merrill and Juanita Crockett. She and her younger sister, Merrilyn, were raised in Palm Springs. She married Willis (Al) Mills on April 30, 1945 and together they raised three children. She is survived by her husband, Al; her sister, Merrilyn (Glenn); her son, Chris (Dawn) of Palm Springs; her daughter Marcia (Mark) and son Terry (Charlene) both of Phoenix. Donna is also survived by her grandchildren, Wendy (Dave), Wade (Marcy), Mark, Makenna (Jordan) and Hayden; and great grandchildren, Joshua, Bradlee, Lucy Jane and Ruby. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Bradley. Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 25 at Tempe Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice of the Valley, whose wonderful staff extended to Donna and her family dignity and grace as she was delivered into God's loving arms.
