Jack Martin Bingel, 59, a 30-year resident of Ahwatukee passed away Dec. 2 due to complications sustained through injuries received. Jack was born in Silver City, N.M. on Aug. 27, 1951. He has been employed by US Steel in Virginia, Minn. He served as president of the Steel Workers Union. He currently worked in Tempe at TSYS. He lobbied on behalf of the Steel Workers Union before Congress. He was also an active supporter of the Walter Mondale-Geraldine Ferraro campaign. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jerie Bingel. Jack is survived by his father, James Bingel, of Lufkin, Texas, sons Michael, Scott and daughter-in-law, Kyrstin, grandchildren Mackinzie, Haley, Dakota and Kylie of Owatonna, Minn., brothers Randy, Gary and James Bingel, sisters Judy Hughes and Linda Anderson, and many loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be this Saturday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m. at Cactus Jacks Bar & Grill, 4747 E. Elliot Road in Ahwatukee. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to AZ Spinal Cord Injury Foundation.
