Valley Christian High School’s Robotics Team, Valley X, hosted a robotics scrimmage on Nov. 16, allowing teams from various Arizona schools a chance to fine tune their robots at a “practice session” in preparation for actual competitions, which began Nov. 23 in Flagstaff.

Teams involved in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) program use math, science and technology skills to build robots which must be able to perform specific tasks that are part of a yearly challenge.

During the event, Valley X ran matches on the competition field and provided support and outreach to several rookie teams that needed assistance with programming and materials for their robots.

The Valley X Robotics Team is committed to excellence. Over the past five years the team has won numerous regional and national awards and competitions. Last year, the team was featured prominently at the Arizona Science and Technology Festival and made multiple appearances on local television stations.
