Iron Boy Promotions’ recent Boxing Continues fight card at Celebrity Theater showcased the best of up and coming Phoenix boxers.

After his last fight as an amateur boxer, Roger Mayweather-trained fighter Francisco “Panchito” de Vaca delivered a moving tribute to a family friend fighting breast cancer. Decked out in black trunks trimmed in pink and sporting a pink ribbon on his shirt and trunks, Panchito dedicated his fight (and win) to family friend, Ana Ferrer, and spoke out in support of her after his fight. Panchito and the rest of the Iron Boy team participated in Phoenix’s Race for the Cure. Both Panchito and Iron Boy Promotions President Roberto Vargas recently lost family members to cancer, and ran in the race in their honor.

In the main event, Chris Lopez survived a knock-down to win a unanimous decision over Diamond Baier. It was an action-packed fight, and Lopez ultimately out-punched his opponent in a well deserved decision win. In the co-main event, Iron Boy Promotions’ Thomas Valdez suffered his first loss as a professional against Jesus Aguinaga, who was making his professional debut. An accomplished amateur, Aguinaga knocked Valdez down in the first round, and continued his assault all four rounds, resulting in a unanimous decision.
