Marian Cecele Davey of Michigan, 92, passed away on March 10 in Sun Lakes. She was born November 2, 1919 in Detroit, the daughter of Benjamin and Magdalena (Severin) Hohman. Marian graduated from high school at 15 and received her B.S. and M.A. degrees in education from Wayne State University. Her entire career was devoted to teaching at Roose Elementary School in Center Line, Mich. In 1980, Marian retired and moved to Ahwatukee with her husband, Vernon W. Davey, who has preceded her in death.

She had a passion for children, education and reading. As a Christian, Marian diligently pursed knowledge of Christianity and, in turn, taught Bible study for several years at the Renaissance senior living facility where she resided. She was an avid bridge player and also enjoyed dancing, ceramics and, in her younger years, dabbled in golf.

Marian is survived by her two daughters, Cecelia (Bob) MacFarland and Mikal (Ron) Doggett; six grandchildren, Tom (Lisa Marie), Sean (Lisa), Branden, Patrick (Emily), Erin and Jared; and four great-grandchildren, Tristen, Sam, Holden and Delia.

Family and friends are invited to attend 1 p.m. memorial services on Sunday, April 1 at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Road in Chandler.
