The Ahwatukee Kiwanis Club recently awarded $200 saving bonds to students attending Ahwatukee Foothills middle schools and Desert Vista and Mountain Pointe high schools. Six awards were presented to high school Key Club members for their outstanding leadership. Key Clubs at both Desert Vista and Mountain Pointe are sponsored by the Ahwatukee Kiwanis Club.

Desert Vista students receiving awards were Ashley Rosselli, Alex Parker and Jared Naimark.  Mountain Pointe students were Jenn Do, Aliya Islam and Sarron Asrat.

Awards were also presented to eighth grade middle school students for their outstanding community service. These awards were presented in memory of the late Dr. Bert Gerard, a Kiwanian, community servant and educator. Students receiving awards were Zoë Caulfield and Emma Williams from Centennial; Cheyna Taylor and Ryan Mahan from Akimel A-al; and Christian Soto and Sheyda Vadipour from Altadena.
