DV sophomore to compete in national pageant

Samantha Anderson won the Talent and Most Photogenic Jr. Teen division of National American Miss state pageant last July in Scottsdale. She received $600, a $500 Barbizon Modeling Scholarship, and the opportunity to compete in NAM All-American pageant in Anaheim, Calif. The final pageant will be Nov. 25.

Anderson will perform a violin solo, “The Black Pearl,” from “Pirates of the Caribbean.” She is secretary of the Desert Vista Advanced Pink Dance Club, a member of HOSA, Thunder Buddies & FCA.

She is the daughter of Sherman and Sherry Anderson of Ahwatukee Foothills.
