Michael Hammett, with the city's Public Information Office, has been nominated for a 2011 Rocky Mountain Emmy award for a "Building Phoenix" segment on PHX 11, the city's news and information station.

Hammett was nominated for excellence in television production in the historic/cultural segment category. Hammett wrote, produced and hosted the piece, which explored the transformation of the Vig Uptown, a restaurant at 16th Street and Bethany Home Road. The building was designed by famed Arizona architect Ralph Haver. The segment highlighted the Adaptive Reuse Program, which streamlines the process of turning older buildings into new businesses.

PHX 11 is broadcast on Cox Cable Channel 11 and accessible on phoenix.gov. As the city's primary source for news and information, PHX 11 produces feature stories, specials, community news programs and interview/discussion shows with elected officials.
