The Desert Vista High School Thunder Marching Band has begun rolling out its competition show, "Leap Before You Look." This year's show explores the thrill of success against the odds when logic gives way to pure inspiration. All 136 band members, plus directors and staff, traveled to Camp Shadow Pines just outside of Heber July 25-30 for intense rehearsals and marching practice. Work continues with early-morning rehearsals starting at 6 a.m. every Wednesday through Friday. The public is invited to come see performances during half-time of every home football game at Desert Vista. Over the past several years, the Thunder marching band has established a consistent level of excellence, including winning the Arizona State Marching Band Championship in 2010.
