Ryan Sangston, a student at Horizon Honors High School in Ahwatukee Foothills, has been awarded an Emerson National Scholarship.

He is among 30 recipients of the scholarship, awarded annually to children of Emerson employees.

Ryan is the son of David M. Sangston, staff principle electrical engineer at Embedded Computing and Power in Tempe, and Collette R. Sangston.

Winners were selected from among 128 finalists and announced recently by Michael G. Rohret, Emerson senior vice president of human resources.

Ryan plans to attend the University of Arizona and study neuroscience and cognitive science.
