Arlene Mae Jenks, 98, formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died Jan. 9 at Chandler Healthcare, Chandler, Ariz. She was born Sept. 9, 1915, in Waseca, Minn., daughter of Harold and Amanda Geisecker McChane. She married Robert Edwin Jenks in 1939, he preceded her in death. Mrs. Jenks worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell until the dial was implemented. Survived by a daughter, June Tesdall of Ahwatukee, a grandson, Robert Tesdall of Ahwatukee, a sister-in-law, Linda McChane of Denver; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, a sister, June Lentsch; and two brothers, Robert and Lloyd McChane.

Services took place on Jan. 17 in Waterloo, Iowa. There are no services in Phoenix. Memorials: may be directed to Foundation Fighting Blindness, 2800 28th St., Suite 310, Santa Monica, Calif., 90405.
