Chandler-Gilbert Community College president Dr. Linda Lujan, along with Chandler Unified Superintendent Camille Casteel and seven other K-12 colleagues, was recognized as a Cesar E. Chavez educator of the year by the Si Se Puede Foundation at the 12th Annual Cesar E. Chavez educators of the year awards dinner on March 31.
The event, attended by more than 450 elected officials, industry leaders, community members, foundation board, and students included keynote addresses from Maricopa County Attorney Bill Mitchell and State Rep. Catherine Miranda.
Lujan has served as president of CGCC for the past three years. Previously, she served as vice president of academic affairs at South Mountain Community College.
Preceding her move to Arizona, Lujan served eight years in administrative roles in Colorado’s community college system.
