Children of Hope Child Development Center, which is a preschool in Ahwatukee, will be getting new fire sprinklers. This is all thanks to many church and community members who have donated to the cause. The school raised $44,000. Lynn Hockenberger, school director, also received grant money to help with the installation.
Complete Fire, the crew installing the sprinklers, has been working with Children of Hope for over a year. After the sprinklers are installed, it's just a matter of raising more funds to cover the cost of the fire monitoring system and the excavation required to provide water to the sprinkler system.
To celebrate the installation and the many other accomplishments of the school and church, the Stewardship of Esperanza Lutheran Church is hosting a celebration on Saturday, November 6th. There will be Karaoke, food including bratwurst, hot dogs, burgers and the ever-popular Potato Salad and Sauerkraut contest.
The preschool provides a positive first school experience within a Christian environment. Spaces are available. The preschool is located at 2601 E. Thunderhill Place, Phoenix.
