Local resident earns prestigious law award

Pamela Bridge has been named the Sharon Fullmer Legal Aid Attorney of the Year by the State Bar of Arizona.

This award recognizes the lawyer in Arizona whose service to low income people encompasses aggressive advocacy on behalf of individuals in extreme need.

Bridge is a senior staff attorney for Community Legal Services, a non-profit law firm that assists low income individuals with civil cases.

Bridge's law practice focuses on empowering Arizona's farm workers about their rights and filing mass actions on behalf of farm workers under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Act.

She is also the qualified tax expert for the Low Income Tax Credit Program at CLS and assists low income taxpayers with their tax disputes.

Bridge is a frequent speaker at the National Farmworker Law Conference on housing law, is on the OSHA heat illness advisory board and is a member of the Arizona Interagency Farmworker Coalition.
