Troop 1685 performs community service projects

Troop 1685 performs community service projects and raised $227 for the Centennial PTO Athletic Booster Club.

Ahwatukee Troop 1685 has been together for six years and is made up of 13 girls, ages 11 and 12. This year the troop was challenged to create its own  goals and projects. They broke into four committees, each taking on their own community service projects. The girls selected, organized and participated in the community events on their own with only subtle guidance from the troop leaders and parents.

Collectively the troop gave 135 hours of community service to local schools, seniors, and underprivileged families. This year these 13 girls proved to themselves that you can make a difference at any age, you just need to take initiative and work together as a team.

The total hours of participation from members equaled 137. The final event, which resulted in the photo and check presentation to Ms. Michell, raised $227 for the Centennial PTO Athletic Booster Club.
