The Phoenix Public Information Office recently won an Emmy Award at the 36th Annual National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Rocky Mountain Southwest Gala. The city was recognized in the interactive category for an online budget program featuring Mayor Greg Stanton that aired on PHX11.

The award-winning PIO team included: Toni Maccarone, Deborah Sedillo Dugan, Sina Matthes and Margaret Shalley, as well as Tray Goodman, now retired from PHX11, and Sarah Muench, formerly with the Mayor’s Office. The team used the Internet, Twitter, Facebook and email to engage the community in a live, interactive budget discussion with the mayor. The program was produced with the assistance of the Information Technology Services, Budget and Research and City Clerk departments. The Academy’s Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter serves Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming and El Centro, Calif.
