In honor of the Girl Scout Centennial, Troop 856, who attend Horizon Community Learning Center, donated an evergreen elm tree to the Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) on March 30 and toured the new adoption center. The girls also participated in earning a wildlife badge and helping out with other volunteer activities this year at AAWL. The troop worked with staff members to ensure that the donated tree would provide a lot of shade and be animal friendly. The new Sonia Breslow Adoption Center at the AAWL is having its official grand opening on Saturday, April 21.
