Haley O’Sullivan of Ahwatukee was named the International Rose of Tralee at a festival in Ireland. She is a 2006 grad of Mountain Pointe High School in Ahwatukee.

Texas has been sending a Rose competitor for 29 years and O’Sullivan, who lives there now, is the first to win the honor. She is also the first American in six years to win. As the International Rose, she will represent Ireland and the Irish community at events around the world, including many in the U.S. Last year’s Rose even met with President Obama during St. Patrick’s Day.
