SIAS International University names Johnson to Foundation Board

SIAS International University has elected Dr. Edward Johnson, president of Everest College Phoenix, as a member of its Foundation Board. SIAS is China’s largest private university with a student population of 24,500. SIAS is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary at its campus in Zhengzhou, Hanan, China.

Johnson has an extensive background in both public and private higher education. He previously served as president of Sterling College, a private liberal arts institution in Sterling, Kan., where he created the first international leadership program for Habitat for Humanity International. Prior to that, he served as executive director of the Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education. Other high-level positions include developer of the Center for Law, Science and Technology at the Arizona State University College of Law, and staff leadership roles at the Arizona Board of Regents. He currently serves on the boards of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Arizona, and Second Nature, the coordinating body of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment.
