Y OPAS (YMCA Outreach Programs for Ahwatukee Seniors) depends on more than 140 volunteers to provide much needed support services for seniors, 62 years and older, who live in Ahwatukee and wish to remain independent at home. Y OPAS volunteers help with transportation to medical and other appointments, shopping and errands, friendly visiting, caregiver relief and more.

On April 7, during National Volunteer Week, Y OPAS hosted its annual volunteer reception to thank volunteers who donate their time and commitment to help the organization and the seniors of Ahwatukee. Y OPAS would like to thank Dignity Health for funding this event and Mellow Mushroom, Ahwatukee, for hosting it.
