Jeremy Reeder has been named the new deputy director of the Maricopa County Library District (MCLD). He succeeds Cindy Kolaczynski, who was promoted to MCLD director and county librarian in late August.
Previously, Reeder held the position of branch operations administrator at MCLD.
In that assignment he managed the operations of the district's 17 libraries and participated in the remodel of seven existing branches while implementing the Dewey-less model in numerous branches, solving customer service issues, and monitoring the integrity of branch budgets.
As deputy director Reeder will oversee branch operations, branch development (facilities), fundraising, and the youth, teen and adult services areas.
According to Kolaczynski, Reeder brings a sense of enthusiasm, urgency and humor to the Library District that is good for employees and customers.
Prior to serving as the District's staff development manager when he joined MCLD in May 2004, Reeder worked in the Clark County Library District in Las Vegas as an electronic resources librarian and an adult services librarian.
He holds a master's degree in library and information science from the University of Southern Mississippi.
