Mayor Greg Stanton has hired Jodi Beckley Liggett, CEO of the Arizona Foundation for Women, to serve as his full-time senior policy adviser on homelessness.

Liggett will begin working July 23 with nonprofit homeless agencies, community stakeholders, and city staff to help end homelessness in Phoenix through programs and initiatives.

Liggett, as the CEO of the Arizona Foundation for Women, promotes solutions for the problems affecting Arizona women and children. She developed the SHE Counts! brand to promote the safety, health and economic security of all women and has worked to maximize the foundation’s local presence and effectiveness. Under her direction, the Arizona Foundation for Women Advocacy Network has become a recognized opinion leader in Arizona.

Liggett also worked for former Arizona Gov. Jane Hull, and was responsible for a full range of human-services issues and programs for the vulnerable, including homelessness. She is an active member in the Phoenix community, including serving on the boards of several local organizations. She is currently the board chair of the Protecting Arizona Families Coalition (PAFCO) and was previously named one of Phoenix Business Journal’s “Forty under 40” most influential people.
