After a two-month national search and interview process, Cindy Kolaczynski has been named the new director and county librarian of the Maricopa County Library District. She succeeds Harry Courtright, who served in the position for 12 years.

Kolaczynski has been the district's deputy director since 2006 and directed the overall operations of 17 libraries while assisting in development, planning and transitioning new and existing facilities.

Previous MCLD positions include regional branch manager, branch operations coordinator and youth services supervisor. Her library career started in 2000 at Iroquois Central School District in Elma, N.Y.
