Alexander Ryan Jones, 19, of Ahwatukee, passed away Nov. 21. He was born on Dec. 30, 1993 in Fayetteville, N.C. He moved to Ahwatukee in October of 2000. He attended Kyrene Cerritos, Estrella and Akimel schools, and was a 2012 graduate of Desert Vista High School where he played football. He was an active participant with Horizon Presbyterian Youth Group and participated in several mission trips. He was currently living and working in Dallas, Texas. He was getting ready to go to Iowa in February with AmeriCorps.

Alex is survived by his father, Keith Jones; stepmother Teresa Jones; sister Madison Jones; brothers Tucker and Logan Jones; and mother Shannon Schannault. He also leaves great-grandparents, many grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him deeply.

A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Horizon Presbyterian Church, 1401 E. Liberty Lane in Ahwatukee. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Horizon Youth Ministry Mission Trips.

Alex was loved very much and he will be forever missed.
