Chandler Service Club celebrates 80 years
Submitted photo

High school senior girls with a heart for community service were honored at Chandler Service Club’s 80th Charity Ball last month at Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa.

The all-volunteer club, founded in 1933 during the Great Depression with its mission to serve hot meals to destitute school children, has continued to provide a multitude of services to the Chandler community throughout the past eight decades.

The “Hands of Service” project is a reflection of each girl’s response to a need they have identified within their community. The projects range from sponsoring a dance for special education students to teaching computer skills to senior citizens to shipping care packages to U.S. military.
