Dale M. Knight, 56, financial sales executive from Phoenix, suffered an aortic dissection and stroke on Monday, March 4, and died at 3:55 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, at Chandler Regional Hospital.

Dale was born to Margaret Ann (nee: Jones) and the late Rufus Elmer “Rudy” Sullivant, Jr., in Ulm, Germany, on April 7, 1956. He was later adopted by J.D. Knight. Dale attended Grand Prairie (Texas) High School and graduated from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale. Dale graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor of business administration in finance and international business.

Dale wholesaled financial investment products for more than 25 years. During his career, Dale received many awards and accolades for his sales expertise, team spirit, and dedication to excellence. Dale married Kim Koeneman Harris at the First Presbyterian Church in Chester, Ill., on Dec. 28, 1991; and Dale was thrilled to take on the title of “stepdad” to Kim’s two young children, Erin and Beau. Dale and Kim lived in Golden, Colo., for 15 years and were active members of Cherry Hills Community Church and the Mile High Cobra Club.

Dale and Kim moved to Ahwatukee Foothills in 2006 and have been actively involved at Mountain Park Community Church. Dale had an expert level interest in military history, airplanes, sports cars, music, trivia, and movies.

Dale is survived by his wife, Kim, and their children, Erin Jo Harris (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) and Wilson Glover “Beau” (Meagan) Harris IV of Upland, Calif.; his mother, Margaret (Jim) Neighbours of Bryant, Ark.; his sister, Dana Wilkie (Prosper, Texas); his brother, Cole Knight (Carlsbad, Calif.); his brother, John Knight (Mira Mesa, Calif.); many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

A visitation took place at Mountain Park Community Church, 2408 E. Pecos Road, on Saturday, March 9, followed by a celebration of Dale’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Park Community Church.
