Phoenix Boys Choir

2012 Tour Choir at the Washington Monument

Ryan Stevens

The 32 members of the Phoenix Boys Choir Tour Choir departed on a 19-day tour through England and France earlier this month. The international tour took the boys through Ely, Bath, Cambridge, London, Guildford, Hastings, Croydon, Canterbury, Salisbury in England and Paris, Chartres, Versailles, Normandy, Epernay and Beauvais in France. The Tour Choir, the top choir of the Phoenix Boys Choir, travels on a three-week tour each summer alternating domestic or international. Tours introduce the boys to new cultures, builds cultural awareness, and enhance self-responsibility.

Not only does the world renowned Tour Choir perform multiple concerts while on tour, the boys immerse themselves in the culture of the region they visit. The Tour Choir will also be performing alongside the Ely Cathedral Choir, the Trinity School Boys and the New London Youth Choir.

The Tour Choir performs under the direction of artistic director George Stangelberger and accompanied by Dr. Diane Baker.
