Michael Barlow, a junior, is an economics and political science double major with a minor in international relations at Hobart College in Geneva, New York.
Barlow is a member of the men’s basketball team and received the team’s award for character, sportsmanship and leadership last season. In the classroom, he has been distinguished with the James Mickel Williams Prize, in recognition of outstanding achievement of compiling the highest GPA in the junior class, was inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon (International Honor Society in Economics), Pi Sigma Alpha (National Political Science Honor Society) and Hobart’s Druid Society, the school's senior honor society founded in 1903 to further the ideals of the college by promoting the values of character, loyalty and leadership.
Over the past year, Barlow has coordinated two large community events in association with the Wounded Warrior Project to raise $10,000 for wounded service members returning from overseas deployment. The two events were in conjunction with Hobart football and basketball programs as well as 14 professional sports organizations.
This summer, Barlow is working in Midtown Manhattan as an analyst in JP Morgan’s Investment Bank. The internship program is among the most prestigious on Wall Street with competition from top students all over the United States.
Barlow is the son of Mike and Lisa Barlow. He grew up in Ahwatukee Foothills and is a 2007 graduate of Seton Catholic High School in Chandler.
